Celebrate the beginning of the Spring paddling season with our annual tradition: St. Paddle's Day! Enjoy family-friendly non-sanctioned races, hearty fare, warm beverages, our BattleBrook Beer by Fish Tale Ales and SUP yoga by Joonbug Yoga!

Where is Alderbrook? From Seattle, take the Bremerton ferry, then follow signs to Belfair, then Union. Brem ferry is 1hr, then a 30min drive to Union. 

8:30 race registration and vendor set up
10:00 safety meeting (mandatory for all racers)
10:30 kid's paddle (parents must be present)
11:15 start of adult long course
11:30 start of adult short course
11:45-12:30 kid's SUP clinic taught by Michelle Pugh or Joonbug Yoga12:45-1:30 SUP yoga taught by Michelle Pugh of Joonbug Yoga
2:00 Results and prizes

6.4 mile long race - This is a triangle course from the resort to the Tayuha River, to Hood Canal Marina then back to Alderbrook. *The race is for those who can handle wind up to 20+ kts, current and waves.
Start of the 2016 6.5m Race

3 mile race - Great for beginner racers or those wanting to take it easy - From Alderbrook Resort east down the Canal to the 'Castle' and back.

Kids Race/Paddle - A fun 'around the dock' sprint for kids.

Who should come?
Racers - The race is for all paddling crafts SUP, kayak, prone, outrigger canoe, sculls, canoes and surf ski. You should have competent open water skills. The 3m and 6.4m races are not for those that have never paddled before.  Non-Racers - The event is a great place for non-racers to watch the races and hang out for the day.

Vendors - The event is free for paddle related vendors. Bring your company tent and show off your products or service near the starting line. Contact us to register.
