Stand up paddling beginning class on Shilshole Bay last week

Fun class yesterday with two students from the Seattle Athletic Club. We're working with SAC this summer providing their members with a series of monthly classes and a surf camp in August.

This was our SUP Basics 3hr class covering the following..

-How to carry a board
-How to purchase and look for a board and paddle
-Hazards of Shilshole Bay
-How to sit, kneel and prone paddle (great for upwind)
-Standing easily
-Bracing and balance
-2 Turns - Sweeps and cross bow
-Backwards, sideways, stopping
-An efficient injury free forward stroke
-Paddling straight
-Falling and getting back on
-Paddling over boat wakes
