Meet Up and Rescue Skills Clinic 11/30/13

6 of us set out today to the West Point Lighthouse to practice rescues and for some to get a taste of 20kt winds.  With a strong southerly blowing on the south side of West Point, we paddled in the lee in calm waters to the point.  At the point two experienced paddlers poked around the other side while a less experienced paddler struggled in the 3' chop and 20kt+ gusts.  We pulled back and stayed in the lee and I showed Remick Merry how to do the flip rescue.

A mellow paddle back, we spotted a few harbor seals and another paddler, Michele Black who was out for a run in the park.

Sharon Ilstrup's new board from Echo Composites with Larry Allison twin fins.
